Take a moment to see our frequently asked questions that moms and dads ask us before making an appointment. If your question is not listed, complete the Contact Form and we will gladly help you with an answer.
If you are uncertain if your medical aid will cover your child’s appointment, you are welcome to contact us or your medical aid to find out.
What are the consultation times?
Our office hours are from 8 am to 5 pm. To accommodate the hospital ward patients and theatre time, Dr Marelie Steenekamp starts consulting at 10 am, Monday to Friday.
Do you claim directly from my medical aid?
We are a cash practice but because we know that taking care of your unwell child is priority, we will gladly submit the account on your behalf to your request (pending fund availability).
Is there a follow-up fee charged after discharge?
A follow-up visit will be covered by your medical aid’s savings plan. This fee is less than that of your first consultation fee.
Do you charge for scripts or chronic forms?
Currently we do not charge for scripts BUT chronic forms are charged for according to medical aid rates!
Which medical aid schemes are you contracted with?
We are contracted to most of the major medical aid schemes, including Discovery Health, Discovery Keycare, Gems, Genesis and Medshield (to name but a few). If your medical aid is not listed here, contact us to get a list of all the medical aids we are contracted with.
